My name is Jeff Cleaveley, I am the Editor of the Club newsletter, 'Bella News and Views'.
I am also the Webmaster for this site.

I have owned four Bellas, the first in 1960, when a callow youth.

The second I bought in 1999, and spent two years restoring it, only for it to be stolen and burnt out.

The third I bought in 2002, and it languished in my garage, until I sold it to a fellow club member last year.
I could not raise the enthusiasm to tackle another restoration!

My first Bella. The young have no taste!

I bought this machine from a number plate dealer.
Overall, it was in not too bad a condition, and fairly complete. The most difficult part to find was a rear light, the original was not there.

I spent a lot of time, and money, on it. Being in Zbec was most useful, as I was able to call on my fellow members for help!

As restored.

It never crossed my mind that anyone was interested in it, or even knew I had it.
While we were away on holiday, someone broke in and stole it.
The Police recovered it about a mile away, burnt out.
I couldn't face another restoration, so a fellow club member took it over.

This is me on Bella number three. A lot of work had been done on it, but the paintwork was rough, and the engine needed attention.
Because of family circumstances, I did nothing on it for a long time, by then I had lost interest, and there is always a keen young fellow itching to do a restoration job, so I sold it to another Club member.

Late in 2007, to save it from an uncertain fate, I had the chance to buy the ex Bill Dorling R203.
I did not want to keep it, and sold it on to a Club member.
I enjoyed my brief moment of ownership, but I no longer enjoy tinkering with ancient machinery.
I leave that to the next generation of enthusiasts.
